This is my test results for cablenut software. I did get better speed, and web pages are loading faster. Like to know if there is anything else that I can tweak , or change to improve anymore. I heard about timestamp and MSS changing it to 1490..
Here are my Three reports (1) from DSL Report & other from Here, also from the PcPitstop too. What you think...

from DslReport.com
Your download speed : 4145925 bps, or 4145 kbps.
Browsers would show : about a 506 k/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 820793 bps, or 820 kbps.
Your connection rocks .. above the 1mbit barrier!

from PcPitstop.com
Text Block Size 1000 KB
Download Time 2090 ms
Receive Buffer 204400 bytes
Transmission Speed 3828 Kb/s

SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 204400
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 51100
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8176 kbps (1022 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 3270.4 kbps (408.8 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 53 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

It looks real good to me. :)

Where did you here that you can change you MSS to 1490.... ?? please gimmy a link to that one
The scope of things if your not on a router and on Cable changing the MTU down to 1496 might help a little.
But when you do your going to have to sdjust the Rwin to be a multiple of MSS.
If you turn on time stamps or set it to 3 then add 12 to the already 40 that come off the top of the MTU to make up MSS..

Bottem line are you happy with the connction
or are you trying to get more if so lower the MTU to 1496 and try resetting the size of the Rwin to reflect the new MSS..
Leave scaling on and timestamps off..
Its that simple if this is @home I think you may have gotten as much as you can already. But then again everyones connection is different... :)

Anyone else
