Post by gladikonse »

Hi guys, i recently found this forum and the SG TCP Optimizer, so i checked, and i have to do something about my super slow internet, so i thought let's run this optimizer but im not quite sure what to tag or do in it so that it will work out, i moved the bar from 3k to 16k cuz my internet has to be 16k (hopefully) and this is what i got after

« SpeedGuide.net TCP Analyzer Results »

it says i have to change somehow the RWIN cuz its not optimized, but i thought a) the tool will do it for noobs like me :D and b) if i have to do it manualy, can someone tell for step by step what to do :)

Just leave your default settings alone. All of these "optimizing tools" don't work.

gladikonse, welcome to SG.

In Windows 7, the RWIN value is "auto tuned" by the OS, meaning we can't directly set the RWIN value. The Optimizer can, however, change how aggressively the RWIN is allocated by Windows. You can simply try the "Optimal" values in the TCP Optimizer, testing your speeds before and after applying changes.

RaisinCain, the Optimizer does work for many people, it has the ability to tune all significant TCP/IP settings and has been ran on millions of computers, please don't troll all Optimizer help threads with that opinion.
