Dennis,

There are UDMA 100/66 Mobo available. I have a Duron system with one in it for a couple of months. I believe I paid 89 dollars for the board (It is an ASUS) at a local show.

The ATA100 connects to the drive at 100MHz vs. 66 with a ATA66 (I know..duh!!). The drive mechanism will not feed data that fast, but the buffer will (2M on that drive). I have not noticed a great speed difference myself and I have both drives.

Of course, new interfaces are coming out soon. USB 2.0 and Serial ATA... Arrrgghhh!!
