Money, money...

Post by Brk »

Billionaire George Soros has quietly invested $62 million in the purchase of more than 2 million shares of Halliburton, the major government contractor criticized by his own Open Society Institute and the activist group he funds, MoveOn.org.

The holdings were disclosed in a quarterly filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by Soros Fund Management LLC.

I love the bash George Soros crowd.

The right wing has had billionaries for years, funding right wing think tanks. You don't hear them attacked in the media. Most of the time you hear them mentioned in a way that mentions them as a legit enterprise without bias.
The Heritage Foundation...
The Cato Institute......and maybe a dozen others.

So who funds these?

Well the biggest are...

The Coors family.
Richard Scafie....(Yes the same guy who's publishing started most of the Clinton scandals.)
The Koch family (Fred Koch was a founding father of the John Birch Society. )
The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation.

The above liked to call themselves the four sisters. By 2000 they had collectively spent over a billion on right wing think tanks. That's just money shuffled off to the think tanks and not money spent on cantidates, and other causes.

Sun Yung Moon personally and money funded from his church.

Murdoch personally and time alloted in his media empire to right wing politics.

Of course there's more but hey...who's counting anymore. The media sure isn't.

Any one of the above has spent more on an individual basis, than George Soros yet we fail to hear this. Remember, they's been in the game since the 70's. Soro's has only been a major player since the late 90's.

So why is it that we never hear about these other billionaries?

Personally I want to hear about all of them. I think as Americans, we all need to hear who's trying to sway our vote. The facts are out there but you have to search for them and really, there aren't that many Americans willing to do so. We want our info spoonfeed to us by people we shouldn't be trusing.
