I have a game that requires that the CD be in the CD-rom before playing. My question is, can you copy everything from the CD then play the game from the HD??? I had one game that was played so much that the CD got scratch badly and would not play anymore. Until I get a CD burner, will moving the files alow me to play w/o the CD? What do I have to change to point to the HD vs. the CD?
Thanks
David

The easiest way to make a game play from the HD and not the disk is to get a Crack (which tells the computer not to look for the cd). You can find them at this website by doing a search by game title! http://www.gamecopyworld.com/

well, i dont know if this is more trouble than its worth, but if you have partition magic, you can set another partition (say.... 800 or 900 megs?), set up a logical drive, and direct copy the game into that partition.
may take a little messing around with to get it to work right, but i have seen other people who have done it.
you can also look for a nocd patch. i have one for halflife (even though i bought the game.... the cd is just a little off balance, and rattles in the drive when it spins up sometimes).

I know, I know..... sometimes i just can't help it!
