I just restarted my computer last night and when I did my internet connection wouldn’t work and when I hit the repair button it said that the ip address could not be renewed and that the DNS sever could not be released. I’ve tried releasing and renewing in the command prompt as well as trying to flushing the DNS cache both give me an error saying that an error has occurred while doing the operation because a file can not be found. I am using a netgear wireless router and it gets connectivity, I’ve even tried wiring my computer directly to my router and the problem still persists. I've also tried the Winsock fix but to no avail. Any one have any other ideas?

Turn off computer, unplug router and wait 5 minutes. Plug router back in and wait for all lights to become stable. Reboot computer, them release and renew from command prompt.
