Enermax has restored my faith in their PSUs

Post by YARDofSTUF »

I never really liked Enermax, when I started building my own PCs they had alot of bad press for a couple models that were low on the 5V rails, and comparing their output to other PSUs it seemed like you got more with other quality brands.

Now I have an Enermax Noisetaker 600W PSU. Very quiet even with the fan set to high, you can set it to auto so that the fan only speeds up when u need it as well.

The rails are right where they need to be even under load.

Has the video card connectors for nvidia on it, 2 for SLI gaming, and 4 SATA power connectors.

The only thing I would change about it would be to make it modular. Enermax seems to like using long cables and in tight spaces it kills the airflow.

Always loved them and Antec...the only two PS brands I'd spend money on.

I don't worry about modular and all the rounded cable stuff, it's mostly overhyped and psychological, mainly just for see through lexan cases so people can go "Look at my creation!"

Between the massive 7800, THe length and amount of wires from the PSU, and small space of the Antec Sonata case, I cant fit teh 2nd 120mm fan in by the HDDs. There are too many wires to run down teh sides to the bottom of the case/mobo to keep them out of the way. Also with modular you could plug in more of the same kind of plugs that you need, instead of adapters that add to the clutter.

Well why didn't you shoot for their Liberty models then?

The single big exhaust fan in the back provides great intake airflow...that's the way the case is designed, the whole point of the case. No front intake fan to clog things up needed.

Cuz they didnt make the liberty case a year ago when I was looking for one :p

I have a 120 in teh back more than enough to get the job done, just would like to have another. the 4400+ is at 36 degrees and the case is 39, so theres no temp worries.
