Which LCD

Post by BaLa »

I think I've narrowed it down

to either

ViewSonic VP912B

SAMSUNG 193P
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... 156&depa=0

yeah both are a big chunk of money (to me anyways) but I've been wanting an LCD, and it prolly wont be till little after XMas when I can get one anyways.

technical differences/specs
Response Time: Viewsonic 12ms vs Samsung 20ms
Contrast Ratio: Viewsonic 450:1 vs Samsung 800:1
Brightness: Viewsonic 400cd/m^2 vs Samsung 250cd/m^2

I haven't looked at either one of these in person, though I did look at some LCDs at BBY and CC today.

I cant decide! I like the 12ms of the Viewsonic and love the looks of the Samsung. Have you looked at Dell's 20"? Can be had for about the same price if not cheaper.

I will be going for the widescreen myself in the coming month or so.

I am stuck on Samsung, they make great panels. The only LCD I've seen and/or used that bested Samsung's panels was the 23" Apple Cinema Display.

Of the 2 i like the Viewsonic mostly because of the 12ms pixel response. However, like lansens was saying you might wanna check out the dell 20" 2001fp which with some coupons you can get well into the mid 500's. I think you can get the one Zooner got for that price too which is a wide screen model.

I'll check into that Dell LCD, once I get ready to buy. I am not sure if those coupons will be around forever, and $700 is already pushing it..
I hate to get my mind set on it, if I might not be able to get it down to or below $700.

And I'm little concerned about the resolution on it.
1680x1050
the other 2 are 1280x1024
