SG Broadband Community

I have a motorola wr850g router, and a toshiba pcx 2200 cable modem. My problem is that about 2-4 times a day, I lose my internet connection, and can't get into the configuration for my router until I power cycle it. My connection worked fine with just the modem for months. I have contacted motorola's tech support about this and they told me to clone the mac address of the first computer hooked to the cable modem when it was set up. I did this but lost the connection about 10 minutes later. Also for some reason the router is giving out 2 minute leases instead of week or year leases like I have told it to. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure why the router would be handing out those short leases.
Is there a firmware update out on it?
What if you go into the router and turn off DHCP, and then assign some private IPs to your machines. Try that and see if the problems stop.
