Vid Card Performance Rankings?

Post by ScottE »

Well the question is mainly about ATI cards, and is mainly for Brent. With all this Numbering BS and XT this and Pro that it get's kind of confusing as to what is actually what. Anyhoos.

What's the Rankings I mean from top to bottom of these ATI cards.

Obviously the 9800XT is the best but where does it go from there performance wise? 9800Pro would probably be second best no? Then what 9800 regular or 9700Pro? A list to work off of would be nice the numbering doesn't seem to make a lot of sense you know.
Respect it.

9800XT
9800Pro
9800Non Pro*
9700Pro
9700Non Pro*
9800SE**
9600XT
9600Pro
9600Non Pro

* Good luck finding these
**I haven't tested its performance myself though i'm just guessing on that positioning from what i know of it

The best value right now is turning out to be the 9800Pro because it can be found in the lower $200 range if you look around.

Yeah the 9800 non-pro's are scarce to find. A buddy of mine got one not too long ago...but hard to find.

Yeah I just wanted to know. Not really looking to upgrade or anything right now since upgrading from a 9700Pro to a 9800 anything would be a marginal upgrade at best.

Perhaps a little farther down the line though.
