Pentium 4 Versus Centrino

Could somone tell me which is better? From what i hear Centrino's last longer on battery time but do they perform equal to or better than a 4? Im mainly going to be using my laptop as a spare computer so im not gonna really travel with it. Keeping that in mind should i get a 4 or centrino?

I used the seach and i guess typing "Pentium Centrino versus Pentium four" wasnt good x_x.
