K i tweaked my connection a little bit and i think it went down a bit, i seem to lag more in games.

now, this is dsl out to the node but after that its fiber so dont know if i use 1500mtu or not.

wel ive been looking at websites that will build and test then ship me a barebones. just because im kinda lazy and dont rly want to fool with building one. (i fried a mobo last time)

have you guys had any issues online gaming with comcast? often spikes? high pings?

theyre my first option, comcast that is. speed for price is actually very good. and low pings would be my biggest priority.

ive heard though that since so many people are on comcast that their is always bad network congestion. thats the only flaw for them atm.

im running a 9200 radeon atm and i get about 40 fps in doom 3 and about 65-70 in HL2, isnt the 8600 much better then the 9200? my card is like 5 years old lol.

maybe il splurge on the 8800.

besides crysis, would the 200 hundred dollar jump from an 8600 to an 8800 make much of a difference in games such as doom 3 or HL2 or fear? i mean i know it would mnake a difference, but would it be a 200 dollar difference?

right now i have a 250gb maxtor sl250r0

i also use an external maxtor one touch 3 with 500 gb of space for storage.

all that will be on the main HD would be a few games and windows. i try to keep everything else on the external.

that mobo does look nice, i have a gigabyte atm and have had 0 problems. it has the features i need also.

i would prolly get the 70 dollar case, looks sufficient.

as for psu, thinkin bout the one Yos suggested.

ok so im a gamer and my parents surf the net, making me lag a bit.
