hi, im looking to spend under 500 bucks for parts at the moment. want a computer that is highly upgradeable.
wut would be some pros/cons of this package deal here?
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... &CatId=333
i have an lga775 cpu fan so no worries there.
i liked this one because coming from an amd 3000+ this will be a giant jump in cpu power and i can always upgrade it to a c2d or c2q in the future.
1 gig of ram is enough to get me going for my games and the gfx card is a big jump from my old agp radeon 9250.
wut i do mostly on my computer is gaming, bf2, and i want to get a system that will run some of the newer games like rainbow six vegas.
i also video edit quite frequently.
any input would help alot, thx!
and one of the tiger shops is about an hour from my house, my current pc is worth 140 dollars to them, would it be owrth it or would it be better to just sell it on ebay?
wut do you think of this system
Would you be comfortable building your own computer?
Intel Core 2 Duo e2140
Abit IP35-e w/ onboard sound and network
EVGA 8500gt 256mb
2x512mb ddr2 OCZ ddr2 800
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250Gb (sata)
Liteon 20x DVD-RW (sata)
Which comes to exactly $400, shipping included. Leaving you $100 to pick out a case and a power supply and stay below $500. Then you'd also have $35 in rebates if you choose to mail them in.
I just picked all that out from newegg so you could shop around and probably knock a few more dollars off the price.
BTW those are all top notch brands I listed, good equipment. Also, you'd be able to upgrade to the intel processors coming out next year with that motherboard.
------
If you think you could get rid of your old system for some money and maybe gather up change to bring you to a $600 budget you would be able to upgrade to 2gigs of memory and a radeon 2600xt which would considerably better than what I posted for the games you are playing.
