10. How do I uninstall the TCP Optimizer ?

The SG TCP Optimizer does not need to be installed or uninstalled. In order to remove it completely from your system, simply delete the executable file TCPOptimizer.exe and that's it. Note you might also want to delete any backup files you created with it (with .spg extension) from its directory. The program does not copy any file in any Windows directory, and it does not appear in the "Add/Remove Programs" section of Control Panel.

To revert any changes made to your system using the program, navigate to the TCP Optimizer "File" pull-down menu and choose "Restore Windows Default Settings". In some rare cases if this doesn't work, or if you thing you have some type of corruption in TCP/IP, in that same file menu use the "Reset TCP/IP" and "Reset Winsock" options (while running the program "as administrator").

Do you mean "Windows default settings" or "your prior settings"? There's a difference!

The program has two separate options in the file menu:

An option to "Restore backed up settings" for previously backed up settings, and an option to "Restore Windows Default Settings".

and whats the difference please tell me?

Restoring "previous" settings restores the state to a previously saved point before any changes made by the TCP optimizer, not necessarily the Windows default. The "Windows default" settings restores TCP/IP related settings to the default Windows state, before any tweaking (whether done by the SG TCP Optimizer, manually, or using another tweaking tool).

The Optimizer has a few methods for restoring to previous/Windows defaults. The most obvious being restoring from the backup file.

You can also choose the "Windows default" settings and hit apply.

Lastly, you can choose to "Reset TCP/IP" from the program's File menu.

Yeah I too faced the problem.

Just do this :

Open file menu , click Backed up settings ,

then choose the file , It will most probably be FirstBackup.spg..

click open and the ok.

And you are done............
