2009-04-15 15:01 by

Secunia is reporting that Firefox is the most vulnerable web browser
that is widely adopted on the market today.

"This year, Secunia published advisories for the four most widely used web browsers: Internet Explorer
(IE), Safari, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox. 31 vulnerabilities were reported for Internet Explorer (IE 5.x, 6.x, and 7), including those publicly disclosed prior to vendor patch as well as those included in Microsoft Security Bulletins. Safari and Opera each had 32 and 30 vulnerabilities, whereas 115 vulnerabilities were registered for Firefox in 2008."

If you add the active X vulnerabilities with the IE ones then IE becomes the worst, by a good margin as well.

IE8 has been tested to be the most secure against malware, however I enjoy FF more its clear to see that IE8 is the most secure at this point without add-ons or any other helping 3rd party addition to the other browsers which the normal user won't know about or use.

Do you have a link of a test showing that Sava?

posted on the forums already.... although you stated the test was backed by MS its still a valid test and even in real time situations here these last two weeks I've seen the results to be true.

My bigger complaint was that it was a half english, half gibberish write up and had no backing info, where as this PDF suggests IE is the worst choice, based on vulnerabilities.
