"LAS VEGAS - Comcast Corp. Chief Executive Brian Roberts dazzled a cable industry audience Tuesday, showing off for the first time in public new technology that enabled a data download speed of 150 megabits per second, or roughly 25 times faster than today's standard cable modems.

The cost of modems that would support the technology, called "channel bonding," is "not that dissimilar to modems today," he told The Associated Press after a demonstration at The Cable Show. It could be available "within less than a couple years," he said."

This is a waste of time cause what they already have they can't support.. I've had messed up internet with them for 2 weeks... what good is the speed if its not constant!?!?!

can't wait for it to roll out? LOL I can.. hell they give it to you and within the first 2hours they cut you off and send you a letter about you abusing their network.. the forums for comcast are buzzing about that since if you go over I think a certain amount down or up in a month they put you flagged for abuse.. I call BS and think they need to get EVERYONE rock solid for a while before working on new technology.

Well I download about 1.5-2GBs a month and dont get a call.

Just cuz Comcast bought out another network and its a mess getting it to Comcast's standards doesnt mean they should just stop doing more things.

160GB is the usage cap.... if you go over that they will flag your account and put you on notice that your abusing their network..so within a few hours at those speeds it will get hypocritical. Adelphia's network run pretty good but here lately since Comcast took over its been nothing but problems. I say fix what they already have going before moving on.

I have not reached anywhere near 160Gb of data in a month on my service and this is with bit torrent actively going. Even so, the cap is going to be adjusted based on the level of service. If they offer 100mbps speeds the cap is going to be a lot larger.
