connection can't achieve desired speeds

I just got recent speed upgrade out of nowhere and on my first test, I managed to pull down a 7.5mbps at speedtest.net. Now, it's more along the lines of a 4.5 to 5.5 mpbs. My ISP said I should be getting speeds ranging from 6mb to 8mb but it's never happened more than once.

Issues hosting online games

I have a problem with hosting online xbox live matches. My upload is consistently around 700-800 kbps on speedtest, but I can't host without everyone lagging constantly.

It seems to be an upload issue. I get those good numbers on speedtest but when I actually go to upload files, I can only get ...

Downloads have also increased and stabilized immensely. It's been a good day.

We do pay for cable but we also have it hooked up in 3 other rooms, which we don't pay for. I was wondering if that would affect out internet?

Also, I go outside to check my wires and such and I don't seem to see a splitter, or at least not a splitter I know of. I think the cable internet and cable ...
