I installed that winsocks fix and now it seems that downloading from newsgroups has become a big problem. I checked my other computer to see if it had problems downloading from there and it was working perfectly fine there.. Is there a way to uninstall that fix or is there somewhere in the registry that I can go to revert it back?
when you repair winsock your only reverting it back to how it was when XP was first installed. Run the TCP optimizer to tweak the stack beyond the defaults,reboot and try again.
