From what I played, it is exactly like Anarchy Online. Same skills, same feel, even same graphics. I didn't like AO in the first place so I can't really tell you whether it's worth it or not, but it's a free open beta so you got nothing to lose!

ya it isn't the E3 demo but it's newer than the Alpha release a while back. I don't think it's really that good at all... seems dark and guns are very boring.

Should run fine. I run it on a Celeron 500 with 384mb Ram and a ATi Radeon 64 DDR and it runs fine, unless theres like a 10 car pile-up :P
Just remeber to take off Frame Sync and Trails in the display options of GTA3.

Why don't they just review the Geforce 4 Ti4600 against a TNT? I really hate how ATi gets reviewed against cards that from totally different generations as it. I don't remember how many times i saw a Radeon vs Geforce 3 review...and now a Radeon 8500 vs Geforce 4 ti4600??? c'mon...

If you really want the best video capture card, the ATi Radeon 8500 All-In-Wonder is simply the best. It can be pricey tho. The original ATI Radeon AIW is fairly cheap now and the Radeon 7500 AIW is kind of inbetween.

technically you are hitting close to you're max upload speeds. 128k is not 128kilobytes, but rather 128kiloBITS. basically 1 byte is equal to 8 bits, so 128kbits divided by 8 is roughly 15kbytes/second.
You should probably consider yourself lucky, my cable isp advertises 1mbit/sec uploads speeds ...

The only problem with the Hammer is that you're gonna need a 64-bit OS to run it...which I read will only be available to business' when released.

I own a ATi Radeon card and a GeForce 3 card and although I think that by lowering the quality in Q3 for performance is a cheap way to win in benchmarks, but what about Nvidia decreasing visual quality in Det4's to increase performance? That's much worse than decreasing the quality in just 1 game ...

In my opinion, here is a list of options:

$100 range - GeForce 2 Pro DDR 64mb
$150 Range - Radeon 64mb DDR 64mb
$200 Range - GeForce 3 DDR 64mb
$300 Range - !!NEW!! ATi Radeon 8500 DDR 64mb

There are several other options you could choose, depending on your area. A T1 Line is one option, but it very costly (cheepest I've seen is $450cdn/month). However, sDSL generally offers the same speeds at half the price. It really all depends on how badly you want to host a server :P

YeOldeStonecat's right. When you run a server, it is depending on your upload bandwidth, not your download bandwidth. I too use rogers@home and since about January 2001, they lowered the upload cap to about 128kbits/sec from 1.5mbits/sec. This really cheesed me off seeing as tho i used to run a Q3 ...
