So here is what I mean.
0-31 TOS value works properly ...

linux 2.6 tweaking
I am seeing some odd behaviour with linux.
the settings I am looking at are the following sysctl's.
net.ipv4.tcp_rmem (controls RWIN size, 3 values, first is min used when low on memory, 2nd is default used on initial connection and 3rd is what autouning can grow the RWIN size to if required for ...

some thoughts on reccomended tweaks
These thoughts are based on my own experience of using the tweaks and what is described on microsoft's own site for what they do.

TOS 136 not always positive
I changed my TOS to 136 and the net seems fine and in some cases more snappier but my router itself is defenitly treating as very low priority. Accessing my router's gui in my browser is hideosly slow taking about 10 seconds for each icon to load. So I hope no other routers on the net treat as the ...

TOS value hard set
hi, I posted a while back about my TOS value always been 0 ignoring what I set in the registry, now I have 92 set in the registry and I noticed my TOS value is now 32. Am I right in thinking my isp is hard setting it and the fact its no longer 0 might suggest they using it for traffic shaping to ...

It slowed things down or seemed to and I believe my isp is forcing TOS 0 setting.

I read a SIN tech document from BT wholesale and found out they use DSCP headers to differ prioritised traffic from normal traffic using 001010, for this ...

TOS tweaking not working
Hi I have tried numerous times to get TOS to a non 0 value but it isnt working. So I can only assume something is modifying the TOS value outside of my computer.
I use a speedtouch 585 router and an isp who claims they dont modify packets in anyway, no proxies shaping traffic etc.
Here is my ...
