I set DisableUserTOSSetting to 0 and DefaultTOSValue to 80 but TCP Analyzer reports 0. I see these values in my Registry after a reboot.
Is it possible that my ISP (Time Warner Road Runner) is clearing these values? If so, is there a work around?
My speeds are good but am curious why I don't see the ToS value I set.
I am running Win XP Pro x64 Edition and IE7(32 bit).
Thanks for any help..............John
ToS set to 80, TCP Analyzer says 0.
I ran a Wireshark trace of the TCP Analyzer and I can see that I am sending a x'50' (decimal 80) in my outgoing packets for ToS/DiffServ. Is TCP analyzer reporting erroneously or is somebody along the line reseting the field to zero?
Thanks.....John
Thanks.....John
Chrysalis,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I do not have a choice of high speed ISPs here. Road Runner is the only cable provider in my area and DSL is not available at all. I am getting good speeds after tweaking (>90% advertised) but suspect I might see some 'snappiness' improvement if the ToS/DiffServ values would make it through my ISP. It is not a problem I believe I have a chance of effecting a change with Time Warner.
Thanks again...........John
