From your last message the problem seems to be that you are giving out DNS ip's from your Sonic which is getting them from the ISP. You should be letting the AD server run DNS and have your workstations point to the AD server for DNS. That is causing your slow logins because the DNS that the ISP is ...

Look for documentation for your modem/router. If it is natting then that is your trouble. Turning off nat would them leave you very vulnerable to the net. Seems like you would have to be able to make changes to that wan screen. It looks like you would need to make changes to that wan page. Top left ...

In that case you need to get into somewhere in your router/modem and do port forwarding. It will be so that the router gets hit on like port 23 then forwards that request to your box. You need to know the ip of your box, get to a command prompt and type ipconfig. It should return something like 192 ...

In your screenshot of your ports I did not see anything showing for port 20,21 which makes it seem that you are not running any ftp server software on your system so the ports aren't listening. Are you wanting someone from the outside to be able to connect to your system on those ports? Also if your ...

I don't know about the Netgears but on the Linksys there is a button on the unit that you push and hold to reset the unit to all of it's defaults. Then you would just have to login with the login info supplied from the netgear manual, change the admin password to something you/she will remember then ...

If you have Comcast, you need to hook the router up, then power off your cablemodem and router for a few minutes - then power on the router, then the cablemodem. Comcast registers the mac address of the 1st device behind the cablemodem(your pc in this case). Powering off the cablemodem will have it ...

If you have already tried different cables then it seems that your nic card is the problem. That ip address 169.x.x.x is the ip a system shows when it doesn't grab an ip from a dhcp server or it isn't manually configured.
Make sure that you have the right driver for that nic card or try another one.

Try running Spybot S&D and Ad-aware. It looks like it isn't truly a virus but actually spyware or malware.
I read about it here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/cws/
Good luck

RedHat 7.3 on system with 2000 Pro
Good evening all,
I had Win2K Pro running on my drive that is partitioned into 2. It ran fine. I decided to dabble in a bit of Linux to learn and loaded RedHat 7.3 on the other partition. I chose the Grub boot loader but now when the boot loader comes up it does not give me a choice to boot into ...

CD-RW tray opens after pc turned on
I am hoping someone may have run into this problem before.
My father'cd-rw drive tray opens as soon as the power button is turned on for the computer and will not shut.
Any ideas?
Is it shot?
Thanks in advance
