Post by erogic1 »

u literally did that for every stoplight? (if u were 1st for the stoplight)

would it waste more gas, ruin the engine faster? etc.

btw, im using my parents "vans" right now and they are a 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport and a 1998 Dodge Caravan.

Not good to rev the motor at the stoplight. It mores alot of stress on the transmission as its not moving the tires or anything. Will heat up REAL quick.

Basically will consume more gas (if you were to floor it everytime) and more than likely eat away at the tires due to wheel spin. I doubt it would have any bad affects to the engine unless you did that all the time.

The tranny could get screwed up after prolonged abuse to it. We used to do that to Mazda Proteges, the trannies would start to slip and scratch second and third gear after awhile and then would need a rebuild. Pretty funny to drive a 4-banger that would scratch second and third gear with an auto tranny.

You should be fine then. You're just wasting gas (depending on how fast you get to 4K RPM ;) ).

if you do that everytime that is not good at all. but how do you go from 0 rpms? i doubt that van can rev very high.. and if you take it to 4k all the time, chances of something breaking with putting that much strain on an engine every time you get that amount of weight moving. if you were doin that at a roll its not as bad but still not a good idea.. and why are you taking off so fast in a van anyways?

Ok, here's an easy example even a Sh!thead like you can understand...

I live across the street from a private school where the rich little kids like to peel out of the parking lot for lunch and after school. Several times a week, we have accidents blocking out driveway, most of those are fatal.

Example 1:
As a girl was walking across the steet, a student poulled out and struck her before hitting a pole on the corner of the intersection. The girl was killed instantly and the speedomiter was stuck at 70 MPH in a residential zone...

Example 2:
An elderly man was waiting fro traffic to clear before he turned into his driveway. A student from the school struck him from behind at 90 MPH. The man had broken his neck in four places and severed his spinal cord at the Brainstem, he too was killed instantly.

======================================

Those two people are dead and it wa sbecause people like YOU, erogic1, who feel it perfecttly OK to speed away from lights and stop signs. If you continue to pull this BS here, we can and will make you time here a living hell, do you understand you punk @$$?

Sorry to be away. I had to do something more important than read some dribble from a poster by the name of erogic1.

Please note: his name should be changed to "dork"

Yeap, that would be about 90% of them. I mean sure, when everyone gets there license, they wanna see what a car can do. I drove my other car (Not IROC) Kinda hard when I first had my license. But I hardly ever went way over the speed limit, just drove the car kinda hard.

I got over that stage. If you ask me, everyone goes through it. I havent seen it fail. Curious I guess....

Heres another example of someone with a fresh license. Everyone does it (Im not dissin ya agiants)

https://www.speedguide.net/forums/ ... adid=65066

;)

Its the idiots that kill people, not the kids who wanna floor there car alot and see what it can do. Gotta do it with some brains. Better if you dont do it at all but....

Perfect Idiot example:

The girl was killed instantly and the speedomiter was stuck at 70 MPH in a residential zone...

He got that way by posting respectfully.

Keep in mind that your thread is about using someone else's car and not only abusing it, but also putting your's and other's lives, in harms way. That happens to raise the hackles of (if your paying attention) quite a few members here.

Sooooo...if you don't like a particular answer....then make your subject matter less confrontational.

90MPH!!! what the **** do these kids think they are doing? that makes me sick....

I almost got hit a few days ago, I turned left onto a busy road, speed limit is 35mph...there's no traffic when I turn onto the road, I speed up to 40mph...then in my rearview mirror this guy is on my ass and speeding up faster and faster, so I HAVE to speed up to like 50, thinking he will slow down or something, but instead, he passes me and cuts infront of me....I was already going 5mph over the limit, he was going at least 60mph when he passed me....makes me furious!!

I think we all probably drove that way at one time and the sooner we got it out of our system, the better.

What changed me was when a fellow a few years older than me (I was 15) came up to me and said "I used to drive like that.... until I hit a tree". And for emphasis, he proceeded to take out his front teeth.

May I have permission to use that story when I teach my son how to drive?

Telling a kid something sometimes does not do it justice unless a good story is used. If a story involved I find it tends to them think a bit about what they are doing.

Of course, but it won't have the impact. When the fellow approached me, I thought it was going to be another lecture but that's all he said and it was enough.

I had someone say something to me like that when I had my Jeep. i was driving around with the top and doors off, and parked into a parking lot. This guy, sitting in his pickup honked at me, and motioned me to come over there. He said "I used to have Jeep just like that, and I never had the doors on either. Now look at me." He had no legs, and only one arm. He drove with some sort of gizmo attached to the steering wheel. It really makes you think...

Would be kind of neat but I don't like spoiled rich kids very much! Rich doesn't bother me. It's the spoiled part.
