Prey its normal, same thing is doing my male, when he is trying to mount the female.Worst case scenario is when he doesnt put it where it belongs, then i have to clean up the sperms because its all over enclosure :D
They are banging them because they need them to get into right position, most of the time the female is trying to run but he always catches her and after awhile she is so tired she just give up :thumb:  :D

Note: They are not turtles, they are tortoises.Turtle lives in water/land, to bask, tortoise only on land.

Sharing the island with Frenchies negates all other advantages......and I would hope that they're better at baseball, there's nothing else to do there :D

When mating season comes male will try to mount whatever moves.

Different corners of the English speaking world use the names turtle, tortoise and terrapin in contradictory ways.
Originally, the word turtle meant sea turtles only.Freshwater turtles were terrapins, and they heavy footed land based relatives were tortoises.
It's still being used.

I do not have turtles or terrapins, i do have tortoises and thats something completely different.

Well, you would need a railroad spike to keep him in place.
