[quote="Amro"]Please don't be sorry, I was not offended]
I declare a great amount of respect for you, and for your willingness to admit your own humanity. I too admit my lack of expertise in many areas, but will still have courage to share, although I apologize in advance if my words offend. That is never my intention.

Having said that, does anyone remember from the movie, "Gandhi", when the Hindu, with a smile on his face, said to the Catholic priest: "You are a Christian... Is it true you drink blood, and pray to God's mother?" Of course he didn't understand... do we understand Islam?

Gandhi brought about incredible change in South Africa and India, without ever using or advocating violence. He used tenets of many faiths to make his peaceful points, despite being a Hindu himself. Is there a now a person of similar stature who may be able to deliver us through today's religious climate and elitist domination?

Catholic Campaign

Catholic - \Cath"o*lic\ (k[a^]th"[-o]*[i^]k), a. [L. catholicus,
Gr. kaqoliko`s, universal, general; kata` down, wholly +
"o`los whole, probably akin to E. solid: cf. F. catholique.]
1. Universal or general; as, the catholic faith.

2. Not narrow-minded, partial, or bigoted; liberal; as, catholic tastes.

3. Free from provincial (countrified, narrow, conformist) prejudices (partialities, external influences) or attachments (connections with affection), broad-minded (inclined to respect views and beliefs that differ from your own).

Catholic is an adjective, a word within our language
Adopted by Constantine and added to the baggage
Limited now in its true meaning, corrupted by power…

Our tongues have created words to explain
How we should be living then get subject to change
And the message gets rearranged.

Jesus was catholic and so am I in the first meaning
I don’t wish harm and intend no intervening
Just a catholic man connected with no standing structure

No longer frightened by the pain
The truth can still be ascertained
It all must start with a catholic, peaceful campaign.

Let us use the words.

Can one be "catholic" without being "A Catholic"?

"Damn, people going crazy over a cartoon. Im just glad it wasnt us this time. "

Us and them
And after all we're only ordinary men
Me and you
God only knows it's not what we would choose to do

Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died
The General sat, and the lines on the map
moved from side to side

Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
Up and down
And in the end it's only round and round
And round

Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
the poster bearer cried
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There's room for you inside

Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about
With, without
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about

Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind
For want of the price of tea and a slice
The old man died

- Pink Floyd

The Dark Side of the Wizard

View now as mimes Toto and Dorothy, as Pink Floyd cries out other-earthly –
Invisible from behind the glowing orb, Is our own consciousness worthy?

Caring unafraid with each and every breath, riding a surfboard toward certain death –
Excavating continuously without looking up… Seldom do we consider the aftermath.

The ticking rhythm continues unaltered, our truths must not ever be paltered –
Although the moments pass to the next, that desire to understand hasn’t faltered.

Sarcastically laughing at our own greed, we still lack this understanding indeed –
None is more worthy of this life than another; still we obsess on our own need.

It is so easy to give others over to sacrifice, not even caring to hear their advice –
As long as we get our own creature comforts, just pretending to care might suffice.

Welcome now to this invisible place, others here may well be held in disgrace –
It doesn’t matter, you’re welcome here; He allows us in to His state of grace.

On earth the seekers continue to experience, we stand together with independence –
Ever warmed by the light of truth, for nothing can block His overwhelming eminence.

So listen with your heart to the warning, as the storm approaches there’s a new beginning –
We shall lose ourselves within each other, as the sun arises on a brand new morning.

There’s no place like home!

Will

yes, the meaning's deep... maybe we should think more deeply about why we choose sides.

I think Muslim's around the world, have the right to be mad over that cartoon.. as I can relate, I really don't like seeing Jesus sometimes portrayed in a profane way.. but to start burning down buildings and to align themselves more with Militant groups, such as Hamas, does not do them the justice that they are seeking.

My 2 cents,

It would be akin to saying that Jews are too litigious and then having them sue you for saying it.

Technically, one could say Denmark (pronounced Danmark), people are Danish-(Dan-ish) are Israeli in origin. They are decendants of The House of Israel -(tribes). The Tribe of Dan. The Northern Tribes were fair-skinned, ruddy, reddish or blonde hair. Jewish is a religion. House of Israel is a race.

Although this one was drawn when the story first broke, the fact that Iran's newspapers are "firing back" almost makes it a little more relevant than it was before.

I've seen enough documentaries from both sides of the fence to know that Both Arabs and Jews call each other names in Israel, and the Middle East and neither one is innocent in that arena, but it still doesn't make it right that the Danish should join in the fray too. Its not going to help make matters any better. Not all Muslims should be disrespected because of the few that disrespect.

Understood. Why do you suppose that Iran has chose to riposte with anti-Jewish cartoons rather than targeting something Euro-centric?

Probably because euros are considered misguided (tho often generous) infidels. Whereas jews are 'animals' and less than human. It's easily to mobilize a moslty destitute population into a sense of nationalism - and thereby not paying attention to how bad Iranian leaders have let their lives become.

Although I think the publicly questioning of the holocaust may be an attempt to blame euros for occupation in 'palestine', so there can be one big club.

Have you seen the pics of the Catholics in the Phillippines that drive nails thru their feet and hands and crucify themselves? Since there is no sound to go with that its hard to say why he was bugging out like that, but it seemed like a form of self-flaggelation. There is a muslim sect that will once a year take a knife and repeatedly slice their forheads until bloodied. There are nutters in every religion and in every country. Remember those wackos that hitched a ride on the tail of that comet several years ago? Was that sane? Rev. Jim Jones? What about that dude that kidnapped the little girl in Utah and had himself a small harem of women and made them all wear like a burkah? Scientologists? Christians who worship with snakes? Christians such as those on godhatesfags.com? KKK'ers even believe they are following Gods word. Holy rollers speaking in tongues? All sane?

this pic is really mild compared to some I saw...i dont know but i can see how one can be offended if making fun of your religios ideals such as muhammed or jesus, but to laugh at seeing cartoons of Jews being killed in the gas chamber and happy it is happening is a whole another dimension IMO

both are wrong, but one takes it to a far deeper level

"More deaths as anti-cartoon riots spread"

It's these kinds of headlines that make me feel no remorse for them, the loony extremist muslims. Really, to have this kind of reaction over a cartoon, is A. beyond petty, B. Sad/Pathetic, and C. Sinful, even in their religion, I would assume. They take being offended to a whole nother level, that not even Christians would take, and our Lord and Saviour get bashed on a daily basis, so WTH are these idiots complaining about? To hell with them.............

When you have people that are relying on their leaders for spiritual guidance and their leadership is anything but spiritual , this is what will happen. It just as bad when a religious group here in the USA will protest and strike against a company just because they have customers who are gay and advertise in a gay magazine. People are doing these idiotic things because they trust the people they follow to lead them in the right direction.

I guess you missed the Israeli settlers burning down all the buildings and land as they retreated then. I've seen videos where the settlers were beating and spitting on little schoolkids as they walked to school. Listen man there are bad on both sides of the fence and anyone who denies that is either lying or is in denial. Saddam is bad for bombing a village after an assasination attempt but there is sanity in bombing a palestinian village because the bomber came from that village? Saddam Hussein jailed people that he thought were dangerous , likewise Israel jails people they think are guilty as well, and they bulldoze their house down on top of it. Please man that makes no freekin sense to me whatsoever. Why is one person a madman for doing such things and another is righteous? They are both friggin madmen. The only answer is to see it as it truly is from both sides of the fence.
