well I have only seen it twice in the past week , but they were strange ..
I saw it once when the pc came back from screensaver mode, and my wife showed me once when she was playing at POGO .
I ran Adaware , and Spybot1.4 , both showed my system clean , and my AVG is up to date , and no viruses ...

the fix is done.

well the smitfraud fix was the ticket.
he reported to me that resolved it , and I had him add the MVPS Host file , along with the other recommended work .
he's running the new IE7 beta .... I dont like the look of it. But I resisted XP , for my trusty ol 98 , what now seems forever ago , so who ...

Phew !

Well that cascade was never ending !!
I coulnt seem to find the root of it.... so ,
I restored back to Sunday , before I had issues, and now
alls smurfy again. Windows explorer isnt sluggish ,
had to repair AVG, and it seems for the moment ...
OK.
I know what this usually means that I fubar'd ...

AVG reinstall

Well seems I have had a cascade of issues since
doing the new updates.
This morning , had the Windows Security Shield warning up in the tray ,
saying that my AV was reporting OFF ?
it wasnt ! so I uninstalled and re-installed, took the shield warning off.

Well ,
I had set my autoupdate to manual , ( trying to reduce the number of services , running in the background , for my gaming ) and then after the updates last night, I had to use Restore to roll back a day.
Seems the one for the windows shell had left me without a desktop right click menu !

I loaded the MVPS Hosts file again.
Amazing how many ad's it disables, but my concern is the last time I did it, was the repercusions from my wifes games @ Pogo.com.
She played fine there last time for a day or 2, then because the ad's werent loading, it stopped ...

Ok, i read the article in EWeek , and did the workaround.... but still find myself puzzled ( not hard for a dumb doggy , rehehe ) but I dont use thumbnails.
I hate when Windows reverts to them in the folder view, and always go back to my list view.
So now that I unregistered that .dll does that ...

I get those from time to time, and even if you deny the return, they get verification that you opened it... the main reason for that tool.
as to it sitting in your outbox, not certain, why.. have you gone thru the options to see if it is set to not ?

well I dl'd a movie last evening... scanned it with my up to date AVG ( it said no virus ) , and then tried to open it in DIVX.
No such luck. It's now 4 hours later, and if I even open the folder its in , the pc doesnt respond . I even tried to go in SAFE mode to try and got the same error ... "can ...

Im curious... I have 3 WD ata100 7200rpm HD's in my system. I have all set to CS , my 40g is currently used as Master , 30g as slave(F :) , and my 200g(D :) is also loaded with XP pro( same as the 40g ) but is primarily used for storage.

I use ScreenHunter to take pictures of those things I change , and save them in a zip for passing along , when I see that it works .
some of my friends are not good readers, so the imagery assists in showing how and where to do things.

I downloaded "copytoDVD" trial version, it worked straight up, ( and better - straight forward ) and was easy to interpret.

then I looked in my Nero , and found the Nero Recode , ( and for my bad eyes saw the "Data" button in that , so now Im in doggy heaven, finally ...

ello , ok my mission is to try to use a dvdr like a cdr... just to archive data to. it seems such a waste to "only" have movies on a dvd.
is there software ( I currently only have Nero 5.5 ) that will do that ?
