I have set the MTU in the links firmware to 1500, what is the best setting that is recommended? Here is a copy of SG test. Thank you in advance for your recommendations.



TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

Put your mouse pointer on the start button, left click, go to programs, startup. If you have anything listed (like MS office, adobe assistane) delete them all. Reboot and thats it.

This will usually solve the problem.

1. unplug the router
2. unplug te dsl/cable modem
3. turnoff all computers
4. wait one to two mintues
5. plug backin the router, modems
6. wait for the modem to sync
7. restart all computers :cool:

Turn off all your computers, cable modem, router; wait one to two minutes and reconnect your cable modem, router then turn on your main computer then the remainding systems. The problem will fix its self. Hope this helps.

I'm not trying to be rude to anyone here who is offering to help but all you need to do is turnoff your computer(s) and cable modem/router. The problem is in W2K-SP2/XP when you do a clean install it does not regonize the DNS when your computer restarts.

Turn off all your computers, unplug the modem (and router) wait one minute. Plug back in your modem, turn on main computer and presto it will locate automaticly update dns.

When I find a neighbor running a server (business or personal) I ask them to not to have it up from 3 pm to 1am, if they do Iwill walk over and cut their line and or report them to the cable company. I live in a residental area not a strip mall.

type 192.168.1.1 pass "admin" not very far down from the top you will see the NIC number/letters, Give those numbers to your ISP. If they ask you if it is a router say "no" just a links card. Hope this helps.

Actually two ways Kip. You are correct in the first assumption, the second is when playing online game (DoD) My cable connection is brought to a stand still. The server does not go down just me. Any advice is apperciated.
