Hi Annalysa

Aside from marrying a Canadian i would think that the info you seek is available from the Canadian Consulate in your State in the USA, or you could ask the Consulate in Toronto or Ottawa.

Even if you go to the US Consulate they would point you in the right direction.

It is no easy thing to do as there are long waiting lists of people worldwide who are trying to immigrate to Canada for various reasons.

You know doubt could if qualified join the Armed Services here, but that is no guarantee of Citizenship.

Good luck

If you love him and he loves you, get married. I wouldn't change my citizenship without a commitment.

I moved out of state to follow a woman. When I later asked her to marry me and she wouldn't, I thought what the hell am I doing here then? SeeYa!

If you love him enough to follow him out of the country and change your citizenship, then you need to go the distance and get married.

I hope this doesn't happen, but what happens if this guy decides to dump you and you are a 1000 miles from home? Who's going to be there to pick up the pieces?

I am not sure what I am going to do I am looking at my options, if he could get a job here he would stay, Were not ready to get married, its only been four months. I do love him, and this is all breaking my heart now. Once he settles down we will decide what to do.

Exactly.. wait a while... don't rush into things...

I've heard of a woman and another man madly in love with each other... but then the woman had a job offer at hawaii and with an expense account ... promotion..... they have been going out for a few months and she rejected that offer..

now she's regretting it and they've broken up...

so my advice to u is to just sit and relax.. just watch... we'll keep an eye on him for u.. where he stationed at toronto?

I believe the cut-off age to join the Canadian Forces is 55.

Your right Larry, entering into Canada as a Immigrant is not an easy task. Just ask me. Been there. Done that. Pay my Canadian taxes. :D

Anna,

To be a full time member of the Canadian Forces you HAVE to be a Canadian Citizen. If your other half is an Immigrant he can only go into the reserves.
