Linguistics(idioms, common combinations, catchphrases) help!

Post by IceCube »

i need some help with my assignment, I've finished the assignment but there are a few that i'm not sure if I'm right or not..

The answers for the following questions will either be:

1)an Idiom (word group whose meaning cannot be derived from its parts eg. to fit in, under the weather)

2)collocation (word that is closely associated with other specific words eg. show consideration and NOT produce consideration

3)common combination (combination that tend to occur in a fixed order eg. red, white and blue; boys and girls, black and white)

4)Catchphrase/Saying (eg. Now you're talking; As if that wasn't enough!)

Ok here are the questions:

A) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "I'll stick by you for better or for worse.

B) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "I don't care what that so and so thinks of me."

C) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "Another drink? I don't mind if I do."

D) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "About that time I was experiencing hunger pangs."

E) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "I envy her free and easy attitude.

F) Indicate the most appropriate label which should be applied to the following italicized expression: "If you love him say 'yes'. What are you waiting for?"

Here is what I think..
