got ripped off on ebay - what to do?

Post by Banshee »

So... i bought a bunch of Cedar Point stuff from this guy, sent the money, i got nothing...

E-mailed him 4 or 5 times, no response. Waited over a month, e-mailed him again, no response.

Then he posted a message at a certain Cedar Point site saying he doesn't have access to that e-mail (yah right) so he posted a new address ( a yahoo address) and told everyone that bid on his auctions to e-mail him.

Ok, so i did. Still no response.

Weird thing is, i bought stuff from him before with no problems. His feedback was all positive unil a little while ago:

http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.d ... cstr-bound

Seems lots of people are having the same problem with him (i left feedback under cpbanshee)

Just checked his feedback again, he is now unregistered.

Is there anything else i can do, or am i basically screwed? :(

Lost about $40 (which is a lot to me)

You should try to find out as much as you can about this guy (name, phone, addy) and contact him that way.

I am sure there are people from Ebay and on here who can get you some information like that if you need it.

Good luck, Banshee!

BTW, when you going to CP next? My wife and I are wanting to go up there sometime in the near future.

not that i do ebay scams but the way they work is somebody gets that persons login info somehow. Then they use thier positive feedback to lure people into trusting them. So the guy you sent the money to is probably not the real person under wich the account is. This really sucks cause the guy that ripped off your money gets your money and the guy that had a legit accont looses money also. I also know there are some things you can download to give you positive feedback. So that could be another possibility. Sorry you got ripped off :(

Damn banshee that sucks.

I have never purchased anything on-line. That includes mail order products, info commercial products or magazine offer. I like the face to face business approach . Knowing who I'm dealing with gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I thought about purchasing on-line recently but the more I hear about these kinds of stories the more I like my old fashion ways. :D
