Disabling Firewall
Disabling Firewall
My router has a firewall and I want to disable it. I have a linksys befsr41. Does anyone know how to disable it?
Hmm
Not really sure as I use a Netgear, but couldn't you just forward all the ports to all the comps? Why would you want to disable the Firewall anyhow?

First of all...why disable your protection? If you want to run some app that requires ports be open, then learn what ports you need to forward, and only forward those ports, not drop your entire port range.
But to answer your question, you can eliminate all NAT protection on a single computer behind the firewall by entering your workstations IP address in the DMZ box of your Linksys routers web admin page...advanced...port forwarding section.

You can disable NAT (I assume that is what you meant by firewall) by toggling the "gateway" and "router" buttons on one of the admin screens. Can't remember which screen you want as I gave mine away some time ago (have a nexland Pro400 and Netopia R7200 now)
You really only want to do that if you're uplinking into another router that will server the NAT function. Otherwise, listen to YOSC
