Battery life is yer big concern. Its the area yer in mostly digital, or analog? For less than 100 bucks yer bells and whistles are gonna be kinda limited, so I'd be lookin at battery life, and how well the phone is built. Go to the sprint store, and play with the demos, thats how I figured out which phone to pick.

I avoid flip phones(break to easy), and look for antennas that are tough feeling(again, a part that breaks easily). Then I take the battery out and see how the connection works, if it seems delicate, I pass it over. I've gone through about 6 phones in the last 5 years, and right now the tougest one I have run across is a Kyocera QCP 2035a. I have tortured this poor thing, and it keeps commin back for more. Its got a decent sized 3.6v Li-Ion battery that has a well designed batt connect, and a easily replacable antenna. The LCD screen cover is replacable(so ya can fix scratches). Small, no sharp angles, and has a vibrate function, so I can drag it into restaurants and theatres.

Just play with em YoS, you can tell when a phone is cheaply built, and pick one that fits yer hand and face right, thats all ya need to do.

I dunno about prices, I don't look at those when I make my decisions, I'm after quality, I HAVE to have a phone that works when I need it.

I have a voice activated Motorola as well. Tough little bugger and it's great picking it up, hitting a button on the side and issuing a voice command. It has never failed and it doesn't require me to take my eyes off the road.

We have been looking around too and the tips that I have recieved along the way include checking the megaherts of the phone, if you can find a phone with 850 or higher in your price range, get it. My sister loves Qualcoms but they are hard to find and a little expensive (ugly too).

any kind of nokia is a good phone...but getting one for $100 may be a problem, unless you get one of those deals where you get the phone free when you sign up with a certain minute plan provider/whoever they are...

"I went with Sprint because of the crystal clear calling you get from them, everyone who talks on this phone says "Wow, it's so clear." That's because Sprint has the only nationwide digital network built from the ground up, and it shows."

after reading that i realized he was talking out his ass, wether he is right or not. i dont want ur phone lol

Get a Nokia 8300

I have one, brilliant phone. Nice and small, has a reasonably good car-kit for hands free (a proper one, with a cradle for the phone and a microphone above the driver's head)

They're light, look sexy, and sound good too

I've had this one for a year and a half now - never skipped a beat.

Has all the gadgets as well - Infrared, data, etc.

It's a GSM phone, so I presume your service provider's network is GSM.

I get about 2 weeks standby out of one battery. (and a few hours worth of talk time)

Y.O.S.............

Regardless of which phone you finally chose, I still have a few custom handsfree devices that work with virtually any phone. I acquired a box of about 150 of them and have been selling (or giving them to friends). See Below.
