No, I never said that you where without distinctive interest or attractive qualities.

I'm just curious as to why you've never reached for the switch that could change the world as you know it :D

Id say Win 2k If you are into all the goodies a Windows OS has to offer and anything Unix related for serious server related scenarios.

My vote is Win 2k because of my needs. :)

My guess is that Lindows is just a modern Linux distro with WINE intergrated into it. I don't know why companies keep trying to push such products.

Mac OS X already has this covered, suport for all of Microsofts latest office and web applications, plus Apple's superb multimedia software, along with terabytes of open-source software.

Why no just wait for OS X to be released on the Pentium platform?

i must admit, anyfin based on UNIX, is the betta OS, like the MAC v10osx, or LINUX, VERY stable and solid. microsoft abolutly h8 UNIX, and they should, anyfin UNIX based duznt require u 2 reboot wen u make the smallest change or install an app! VERY annoyin! but i'll admit im wif windows, but h8 it! mainly coz of dat reason. "y r u wif windowz then a flamin idiot??" mite u ask, simple answer, EVERYFIN is compatable wif windows, windows is HUGE and theres no way around it, but i'll say i like it yes, jus the fact it constantly plays up and the fact it requires constant rebootin is its floors, amung a few uthas but i wont go into detail!

im a very disturbed little boy :D

There is no answer....because the answer varies from person to person....and is dependent on what they use their computer for. Therefore the answer is different for each person.

I remember my first computer, it was this keyboard from Radio Shack which plugged into the back of your TV. It had these funny tapes which plugged into the side of the computer. These tapes contained programs, word processors, games, etc :D Kinda weird.....

My second system was a 486 sx 25MHz with a 170MB hard drive and 2x CD-ROM :D It run MS-DOS 6.0 and WIndows 3.1

It was also the first platform which I had learnt how to write batch files on > at the age of 12....

That Radio Shack computer sounds like the same one I have Stef.

The Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer

6809E CPU @.89mhz
4k ram
2x2k roms -Basic and (Extended Basic addon)
no drives - no HD's and no floppies
TV hookup for monitor
16k expansion slot for games, programming editors etc
tape drive add on - if you could afford one lol

That sound familiar ?

Stonecat that is exactly correct, and 2 all who r lettin this lil' poll influence them on a possible upgrade/downgrade of ther OS, dont take ANY intrest! u have 2 do sum serious studying, as different OS's meet different needs wether it b 4 home, public, or offce use. and yes windows meet nearly all the needs of any user, but i know ppl who jus refuse 2 use it, as they h8 the microsoft empire with a passion! but as i said, an OS is only good, if u say it is, and it duz what u wannit' 2 do!

but in my VERY humble opinion, anyfin UNIX based is the betta OS as i said in the last post, but yes i do use windows as well, answer 4 that, also in my last post. and the windows vs. UNIX war has only jus begun, in the very near futer look out 4 even fancier OS from windows, LINUX, and even those champs at APPLE. and as sum of us know, MS hate UNIX, and r alwayz trying 2 show them up, so i jus cant wait 2 c wat each playa in this wild game of 'who can do best' can produce 2 make us customers smile

Yeah, my parents got it when I was like 7 or 8, all I really remember was playing this clown game. The clown was bounced up from a tranpoline (controlled by the user) up into the air to pop floating ballons, the more ballons you poped the more points you got. I remember the music that played when the clown would hit the floor, it used to make me scared :D

Those where the days when video games used to be entertaining...

i can answer that question easily! microsoft only recently bought out hotmail, because messenger didnt run stable on windows so MS bought them to target this problem. now linux havnt released a new version (to my understanding) since before hotmail was bought out, and hotmail put messenger on LINUX for them, and yep, you guessed it, messenger ran only just perfectly on LINUX, but not windows, so MS got pissed off and bought them. so if u you see a recent version of LINUX, u may notice messenger isnt on there, unless MS have been 'kind enough' LOL, to let LINUX use messenger once again.

Ahh, HotMail runs on FreeBSD, just like Microsoft's DNS servers. Anyway, HotMail always ran on FreeBSD and Microsoft saw no reason to replace it since the system was highly fault tolerant and more cost effective then re-configuring an entire messaging system.
