Are there any Chicago area broadband options with better download speeds then ATTBI?

Saw a post of another Chicagoan recently. So I know alot of us are in the same boat. I was curious if anyone could recommend any broadband options in the Chicago-area with faster downstream speeds then ATTBI? (currently gettin 150k\sec or so)

Please don't keep em a secret!..

I just got back from England and so I checked my emails and I got an email from my local provider saying they are switching over to the ATT network. This is what they said...

"We are very pleased to announce that we have contracted with AT&T to help transition our customers from the @Home network onto the AT&T national network. After extensive research, we believe that AT&T has the best IP backbone in the country, providing connectivity at speeds that will assure the quality of service you expect."

The only good news I've seen from this email is this....

"You should know that we continue to talk with other high-speed providers and expect that we will be offering a choice of high-speed ISPs within the next year. As a first step, however, it is key that we transition your service as soon as possible so as not to disrupt your connectivity."

Hopefully, we will be able to pick what ISP we want... Fingers X
