and the default is 192.168.0.1. That was the readings when my wife checked then yesterday. However these settings change every few seconds-less than one minute. I wish I knew how and I would give them as thay are now. They don't change much but enough to cause me two problems.
The first problem is that the connection speed is slow for cable internet, and the second problem is that my satellite receiver loses the sever connection before it can connect to the network to get necessary s/w updates.
My wife works at Sykes Inc. in Wise Virginia doing support work for a company out West that supplies and trouble shoot for DSL! By the time she gets home she has had enough of the computer to do her beccause she has been on one all day and needs rest for her eyes and back so there is no help there!
The satellite receiver has a ethernet card(I don' know the make or model) and that is my number one concern. It starts to read the router modem then the numbers change and the receiver says to try again later. If I don't get to the bottom of the problem soon my receiver is going to crash.
I wish I could give you better infromation but this old man knows very little about computers and routers and etc. Thank you for going to the trouble of reading this rambling message. If you have any suggestions or thoughts to help me please leave me a private message and I will get back to you. If you require futher tech. infromation please advise me as to how to get it in English, not computer talk.
I say this because I have several critical health problem and have to go to bed at any time. I am willing to try anything but now is not a good time for me th spend a lot of money. So lets recount: a slow cable internet-a router that changes numbers too often:and a low budget to work from. I thinkI have three problems! I sure hope for no more until I can get back on my feet!
