Up the top there's a searchbar for the number.

Hope it works for ya.

You say hello 2-3 times? If im not impressed or interested in the call after I say hello, I just hang it up. Strangers have about 2 seconds to impress me on the phone.

Did you enter the offending 888*** *** number in the bar and search it?

Reverse Lookup

I thought that's what you wanted to do Sava. Find out who owns it and cut their line. :D

Either that, or if I don't recognize the number, or it's blocked by Caller ID, I just ignore it.

This is not quite what you are looking for, but I hope it will help you in some small way. Its the national registration site, that can help BLOCK the unwanted numbers in the first place. It works quite well :)

That's what I don't get...for a couple of years...that donotcall list worked great.

But for the past month or two....I'm getting slammed at home with friggin cold calling telemarketers and surveys again.

that's about what i do, after i say NO, I'M NOT INTERESTED in whatever they are offering i hang up, as they continue to 'sell.' The fact that they dont' understand the word 'no' really annoys me to the point that i will be quite rude.

Tonight I had some call asking me If I would like to complete a phone survey. I told the lady why yes, most certainly. I consult for a living and would be happy to. For a minimum of $125.00 per hour at a three hour minimum. I take Visa, master card and Discover... at this point I got a click from her. :D

As I understand it, those calls are made by a computer and are made in bulk. When you answer, the computer then begins attempting to switch you to an open line with a telemarketer, hence the clicking. If it terminates, as it usually does, the connection attempt failed.

I can't say why it's calling you either, but based on that thread, it appears that it's a Verizon Wireless customer support line.

What you are getting a a call from an auto-dialer..... the computer calls you, it connects and then dumps you in a queue to be answered by someone....the delay is because no one is ready to take the call yet...you can actually make a recording of the disconnected tones that you hear and play it back to the dialer when answerd to fool it into thinking your number is bad....(that's how the first telezappers worked)find the main trunk of the number by dialing up and down the number and calling them.........

It called again the same time everyday again today lol I answered and was like "hello, hello, hello, hello, etc.." After it disconnected I called it and yeah it was a Verizon promotional thing.. after on hold for 5mins waiting for a tech to answer I got someone and after the guy asked me how I was doing and what promotional thing I wanted I told him I don't want a damn thing I just want this damn phone # to stop calling me before I reach through the phone and choke someone! :thumb:

so we shall see if it works :)
