'tis but me

Post by vinnie »

Word!

Finally got the intarwebnet again, after nearly 9 months with no sweet broadband loving. ADSL @ 512/128 shared betwixt two of us courtesy of a D-Link Router/Modem thingus and a splash of cat5e.

It fits in nicely with my spiffy new computer, which is currently working on it's first unit for F@H for team 15 again ;)

Army is fun, didn't expect to end up where I did, namely about 35km from where I lived the last 20 odd years. I asked even to be put some 4000km away, yet here I am still. On the upside, I get to see the better half a lot more frequently.

Funniest part of living on a base is that in the lines there's cat5e strung up everywhere outside. It's like in the trees and going between rooms and buildings and all kinds of neat stuff. Even mine goes between two windows :thumb:

Hugs and kisses all around and I can post again ^_^

We get three boomerangs and are required to spit polish them daily. They've phased out hand-to-crocodile in favour of boomerang training, the idea is that we shouldn't ever need to close to hand distance if we apply the boomerangs properly.

If we do have to close though, we have a small knife that slots into a recess in the boomerang to form a cunning little device called a boomerayonet.

I had the privlidge recently to see a APB - armoured personnel boomerang- in action. It's a quick way to get into battle, there's a few design flaws though in that it seems to pop right out back and head to where it came from though for some reason :(

Yes :D

By which I mean no :( Kind of dissapointing really, I spent so long with the thing, weeks sleeping with one out field even, and now I hardly get to touch one. Oh no wait, we have a parade this weekend so I'm going to see way too much of one this week.

In typical aussie spirit though, we get a BBQ after the parade though, so it all balances out really ^_^
