Plextor 716A. I had a couple Lite-on 1673S models and RMA'd them both, although my Lite-on 411S works great.

That is what I had come up with Plextor 716A but with SATA instead of EIDE.

Trust me, you won't regret it. You'll spend a little more but after re-stocking and shipping, I probably got the same amount into the Lite-ons......

THe 8MB buffer on the Plextor 716 is a good thing. I have both the 716 and the Pioneer A09. Go with the Plextor.

I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
