Thx 1138.....

Post by Prey521 »

To be released on 9/14/2004

From what I understand, this movie was being made before George Lucas started on the Star Wars series, and then and it was never released because he was too wound up in Star Wars. I wanna check it out, looks cool.

That movie looks familiar. Robert Duval looks awfully young. I thought that was already released ages ago and thats where they got the THX sound scheme from that movie name. I bet its recycled.

The Misfits wrote the song We Are 138 about it which inspired my screen name. :D ;)

The movie was released some time ago. If I am not mistaken it was his first commercially released movie. I believe you can see the alphanumeric 'THX-1138' in all of George Lucas' movies somewhere. I remember reading that the probe droid in the beginning of Empire Strikes Back had the serial no. of THX-1138.

Don't expect a kick-azz action movie, Prey. In fact it can be a little boring at times. But it is rather deep. An almost spoiler for you: keep the word 'budget', (No relation to the quality of the movie or its budget), in the back of your head when you see it.

man this movie came out in the drive in movies in the early 70's !!

i watched it on TV in the late 70's

kinda boring, or cerebral at some points. i always loved the chase scenes with the original GT-40 in the tunnel complex.

ahhh, memories.

btw this was Lucas first film.

It came out around the same time as Logans Run, Westworld and Bladerunner (Awesome movie to this day). I guess he wants to cash in on the I, Robot thing.

All classics. :D Now all we need is a remastered Plan9. I think the Lugosi shudders at the thought of that one. ;)

WTF? was there a earlier version of bladerunner? or are you talking the one with Harrison Ford in it? it came out in 1982!
