Call of Duty won't start a game

Post by shadrach »

Played the CoD demo on my computer fine.

Just got the full game, installed off the CD's and rebooted. When choosing on a skill level after selecting New Game, the screen just refreshes back to the main menu. I can't start a new game.

I've already installed Directx 9.0b, and just upgraded to both Nividia GeForce 56.64 and nForce 3.13 drivers, and still nothing.

Why the hell does the free demo work fine, and then you game you pay for has this crap to deal with? I've searched around, but can't find a solution.

Well, I know this was posted two years ago, but I've had a few problems with is since, and I'm sure others have too, so I thought I'd just post the solution for anyone else that stumbles across this.

Anyway, the problem has to do with the drive used to install the game. In my instance I had to install using a CDRW Drive and not my DVD drive(don't ask me why). So if you're having this problem, use a different drive!
