This driver requires Windows XP Service Pack 1 or higher to be installed. "
i do have SP1 installed so it don't matter to me.

they really need to change that wording
it isn't 'required' it is just that their test bed system has SP1 and that is what the driver is tested with
it doesn't mean other combinations won't work
i have heard people installing it on non sp1 systems just fine

Mines legit. But everytime I install sp1 my games start stuttering and my sound is choppy. Programs take forever to load too. Im waiting for SP2 to be released if it ever is.

I haven't tried SP1 on this Biostar mobo. Maybe it was just my Epox acting up. Ill try it and see if it works out ok I guess.

I can't begin to count how many machines I've SP1'd, not a single issue on any of them. What the hecks wrong with your system that SP1 hoses it? When was your last format and reinstall?

these drivers are no good... omega drivers all the way after reading some tests and seeing that the image quality and the fps of games are higher with omega i went and got them and love them. got to wait for the new omega drivers to come out im never going back to ati drivers even tho i had no problems i like quality over fps anyday.

these drivers are running games fine for me, but i seem to be getting errors in 3dmark 03 and pcmark 04, haven't ran them tests in some time, even had to install them, but both are giving me errors.
the 3dmark 03 is telling me " DrawIndexedPrimitive Failed "
and not sure what pcmark 04 was telling, but i ran dxdiag and noticed some things, think i should reinstall directX 9 over top of this 9.0b version i have now ??
i was just running the benchmarks to see how these drivers run compared to the 3.4 ones i had.
it has been since june 2003 since my last format, maybe i should just start over, but Norm would just shake his head and say " fix it if ya can"

I think that might need a certian codec that's not included if I'm not mistaken Mark. Did you use driver cleaner2 before you installed the new drivers?
