I had a good experience with Dotster, though they don't give you any free nameservers.
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

Dotster's hosting package seems low. 9 bucks a month for 15 mb of space?

The best place to buy a domain is http://www.godaddy.com

they offer 24/7 phone support and domain forwarding, along with other features that the other folks charge for.

I STRONGLY recommend http://www.hostpc.com

They have a $5 a month plan, but often run a special for 350megs and 8gig bandwidth for $25 a year! Tons of features too.

I've been using them for four months now, without any problems. Simply amazing.

dunno if you really saw it in the thread link but 1 and 1 is about the biggest online host I hear and they have 3 years free as a promo right now ... here is the link http://order.1and1.com/xml/static/Hosti ... frame=_top

I think it will cost a few bux still for your domain registration but aside from that it is almost impossible to beat ...
