Problem

Post by Neptune-Sya »

I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Whenever I'm connected to the internet, my computer seems to just freeze out of the ordinary. This only seems to happen when I'm surfing the net or playing online games. Somtimes all I have to do is minimize the explorer window and my computer freezes.
I am then forced to reset my computer. I can't even Ctr+Alt+Del
It goes completely frozen.

Does anyonwe know the problem, or has anyone ever suffered from it?

I have a DSL connection under Win XP pro using WinXP PPPOE.

Is there some sort of IRQ conflict going on?

:(

Can someone shed some light on this.

btw, sorry if this isn't the right forum for this thread.

No, I haven't installed any new hardware lately. My motherboard is an ASUS Cusi-Fx that uses an SiS chipset. I've checked their website and they seem to have updates for the mobo from 2002. That's about it. They do have BIOS update though.

Should I maybe flash my mobo. Honestly, I don't feel like doing that in case something goes wrong. Besides, it's just weird that my comp freezes only when I'm connected to the Internet.

It's weird, I don't get it. :(

got to sysedit, system.ini tab, then del the irq setting u have somewhere under this : [386enh] ( how much ram do u have?) if u have 256 or more, the irq tweak should not cause a problem.

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't have an IRQ listed under 386enc
