Why Was This Never Reported?

Post by Prey521 »

This happened back in 1999 and this is the first that I hear of it, and it's only cuz Paft made reference to a website where I read about it, then when I do a little more research into it I find out that I wasn't the only one that never heard of it.........

Didn't you hear? In the U.S. its trendy to be gay now.

I'm not a homophobe by any means, I have plenty of homosexual friends, guys and girls. But, even they agree that homosexuality is a little too "Glamorous" these days. I think tv stations use this as a cash cow for now and would therefore not want to put it in a negative light. Then again, why would it get any more national coverage than a girl who was abducted, raped and mutilated by a straight couple? Points to ponder.

There are thousands of murders a year. Because a homosexual commits a murder, which doesn't even seem to be of a "hate crime" nature (ie, killing someone because the AREN'T gay), it needs to be front page news?

Murder is a horrible crime, and if they're guilty, then I hope they rot in a prison for the rest of their lives or are also killed for it. But I don't see where sexuality is a factor here.

The media picks what it wants to. Whether its an abducted child or mother, shark attacks, SARS, or whetever they feel like sensationalizing at the moment. But just because a crime is commited doesn't mean it'll be on every TV station and magazine in the nation.

The "gay" trend in current media is similar to woman's issues on the late 60's and 70's. It was a largely ignored/taboo topic (read: previously unexplored.... as in fresh) that America is watching some level of fascination.
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

I think death is too good for them. I think it won't take any time at all for them to become somebody's prison bitch. They'll have to relive what they did that kid for years, and I don't think the guys in prison are going to be nice about it either.

When I was younger I met a guy who was in prison. One night while we were partying he up and told us how he was raped time and again while he was in prison. We were all tripped out he even told us that. The next morning he blew his brains out with a shotgun, in the church yard at the corner of my street.

I beg to differ, not surprisingly :D ......

When a child is murdered in such a horrible and disgusting way, as that kid was, I believe that it is worthy of national press.....I think that the fact that they were gay had an affect on how it was handled, cuz you know for damn sure that if it would have been the kids parents, brother, friend, etc...That the media would have been all over it....pretty sad

I'll match your differ, and raise you one. :p

You have any idea how many murders, including ones as horrific as that, take place in the US alone? There's no way that all of them can take center-stage in the national media spotlight, so it really is a choice of what to cover. And while I don't believe in their explaination 100% (towards the bottom of the article), its pretty damn close to how I feel.

Is there a bias, in either direction? Sure, but I don't believe that its a massive pro-homosexual conspiracy that made sure this murder didn't land the cover of Time. I also wouldn't put too much faith (no pun intended) into what that website says. ;)

there's a whole wing in the prision my dad works in which houses gay inmates for everything from armed robbery to murder. Does every murder case make the news? if it did, we would need two hours just to announce murders durring the news.

In prisons, child molestors get raped, beaten, shanked, and sometimes killed (depending on what they did).
Inmates call them "tree jumpers". Nobody likes them, except of course, other tree jumpers. Butt buddies of a feather stick together...

That is horrible.I never heard anything about that one.Poetic justice awaits both of them.A lifetime of being everybody's bitch in prison.Although I feel thats too good for them.I don't think that "pro-gay "media killed the story.I think those in charge made an intelligent decision not to run a story that would add fuel to an anti-gay fire that is hot enough already.

A slow and painful beating is what awaits them. Even though there's some brutal murderers, they have a MAJOR problem with people had had hurt kids.
