General mail settings for cable

Post by Bulgrim »

Is there any way to determine a Primary and Secondary DNS from a cable mail server? Sorry if this seems like a silly question but I'm trying to set up email on my mobile phone and it requires Primary and Secondary DNS settings.

If this isn't possible should I just stick with a free POP3 mail server and use their settings?

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to offer some input.

Cheers. :)

DNS can be found several ways. Usually you use the DNS servers of the ISP that you're getting your bandwidth from (because in many cases, people use ISP A for their bandwidth, and ISP B or hosting place B for their e-mail).

*Anyways, check the website of your ISP..the support section.
*Call your ISP's support
*If you are using a router, log onto your routers web admin, and look at the status page....the WAN info...you'll find them listed there.
*If you are directly connected, run WINIPCFG if you are on Win9X, or at the command prompt, IPCONFIG if WinNT. On either, focus on the NIC and it's data.
