i recently finished rtcw and loved the graphics on that. want to see how nice a game can look on my gf4 though.

UT2K3 is the most stunning graphically...will really push your system. Outdoor levels...fire up Tokara Forest and you'll be stunned. I just found the game itself very boring....didn't hook me like the first UT did. The first UT lasted for years....UT2K3 lasted for maybe a month.

RTCW looked very good...the best use of the Quake3 engine I've seen, but it's still the Q3 engine...only so much they could do with that. RTCW being an older game than MOHAA I believe, and it looks much better than MOHAA.

what about a fps that carries some adventure... q3 and ut2k3, they bore me in less then an hour.

my fav all time games were undying, alice, and rtcw.

adventure... try no one lives forever 2?

it uses the lithtech engine and it looks grrreeeat

splinter cell should be out soon.. and that looks fantastic too.. but it uses the ut engine I believe...

how about morrowwind? it's a great rpg game..

Aliens Vs Predator 2 is pretyt killer. The Lithetech engine also, looks good, but the ambient sound effects and music REALLY make the Marine campaign truly frightening.

ut and ut2k3 were made for newbs...nothing like sittin still and shooting the flak and not making any effort..it just kills for you...

Unreal 1 = the best fps ever made...strategy wise that is.

I'm not sure if It's the type of game you are looking for, but Combat Flight Simulator 3 looks kick a$$ and is a very challenging game.

I tried the demo to splinter cell...

finally convienced that I bought the right card!!

holy smokes, NOTHING was turned on and the game looks amazing. I'm going to go beat nolf2 in a couple of days now.

thanks everyone for your help. feel much better about the almost 2 bills I spent now.

Plus, leadtek gf4 ti4200 is amazing for vi. I've put couple of hours in already and converted to vcd. Whole family is SUPER impressed and constantly watching them. even better with nice menu setup through nero.

Max Payne is old but that kicked some arse too !

And as per the topic of Graphics , There is no game advanced enough that you need a graphics card more then 32mb.

Not yet anyway !! Can't wait till the FX card is out though

Ut2k3 had sweet graphics but it got old fast. I like Bf:1942 pretty nice graphics.

I dont know about the rest of you , but if Splinter Cell is gonna be in 3RD Person view then it aint gonna sell well !

Although the Demo took me 15 min's to complete (wtf was that ?) i found it too be good so i guess we shall see !

It's doing well on the XBOX, and everyone has known it's third-person since it was announced, so I don't see why it wouldn't. Believe it or not, there are people who would love to see the glut of FPS games diminish in favor of games like Splinter Cell. Even then, it still is a shooter, albeit one based more upon stealth tactics than an outright strafing onslaught.

There may be people like that Burke but in the PC gaming world, the majority prefer 1st person ....

That fact isnt even a question by PC gamers.

It's good to see diversity though and i may even play it even though it is 3rd person. I just prefer 1st Person thats all, its more realistic.

If i wanted to see the top of some guys head id buy a ladder !

majority is 1st person? blah.. what about all the rpg games? adventure games.. war games.. strategy games...

I like splinter cells 3rd person... it works.. I don't care if it's 1st 2nd 3rd of 14th person.. if it works it works...

it's fun too btw.. that's all that matters...

I'm willing to bet u that splinter cell will sell well on the pc...
