Anyone had any trouble installin Unreal2003?

Spent the best part of yesterday rebuilding Splashs machine and I cant get the damn game to install?????

1000Mhz Cel Tulatin core
512 Megs ram
ATI 128 meg 9000 pro
lots of hard drive room
fresh install of XP

I just dont get it, it installed on my machine first try
keep getting file read errors at a different file each time, tryed 4 different CD roms. Really pissing me off.....

Dont know what to think, is it because its a Celeron????

I had the same problem... But after a few tries and format (not related) I got it to go. Might have been my IBM HD that went to poop.

If your hard drive(s) are on one IDE controller and the ROM is on the 2nd controller, it's possible that your second IDE controller is going bad. Or like YoS suggested, try switching out the cable.

If the above is true, just slap the rom onto the first IDE controller (same as main hard drive) as the slave and install, if all goes well, that is your culprit.

Grrr
Stick of ram went bad...........
This ATI 128 meg 9000Pro rocks

All up and running now, only 256 megs ram but the vid card makes up for that big time.
Awesome improvment over the 64 meg ATI 7500.

Game runs great, high detail on everything....WOOT!!!
