It's getting too politically correct. One person get's his/her panties in a bunch and goes to cry to the big man.

It sucks Oxblood. If someone considered and animated fully clothed simulation of a women dancing around a retarded bannana porn they have deeper issues that need to be explored. This has gone a little too far I believe.

So, you consider a woman in a bikini thong a fully clothed woman? Ok, why won't they let them wear that to work then? Oh yeah, and as their dutys, they should be grinding like that every time the go to the copier. That sounds about right. So lemme guess you like your women in the kitchen preggers, barefoot and "fully clothed"?

Boy, Silver, is it fun to tear apart your argument. You want some proof that'll blow your argument out of the water?

Nudists. People who think (and I agree) that pornography is not a bad thing. Whoops, maybe nakedness in the workplace isn't seen as a bad thing then.

Silver, your argument is shaky at best.

When you good folk read that other thread, do you read it with an open mind?

Or does the idea of being able to do what you want, when you want, so obsessive, that it spills over into here?

Try rereading that thread and see why some feel some of them have to go.

It's still about respect.

I'm not crapping on this thread or ranting against anyone specific. I'm just pointing out that the idea that we can do as we please here, just isn't so. Sorry.

Ask yoursleves if you really want a fourm without any avatars?

what

I have no idea what you just said. Except for you typed some jibberish and said "wow it's great tearing apart your argument". Nudists? Please give me the percentage of nudist's to actual people who are not nudists? I would need that figure to actually form what you said into not being dumb. That's like saying "ok well, "Some people have sex with fruit, and that is not taboo in their workplace!" so I guess sex with a cantaloupe in that atmosphere is proabably not bad. Such as pornography is not bad in a "nudist" atmosphere. Sorry, I just don't get it, please explain your post for me, the layman.

I apologise for making insinuations about your feelings on women. In a work envoirment, a cartoon that looks that real, is conveyed as a real girl. Also, it might have been a real girl except for the compression was so heavy that the girl looked like a cartoon. Again, I apologise to my statement about your feelings towards women. I will stand by the .gif was not acceptable though.

Its pretty simple people.

1. This is a private forum. You abide by the rules.
2. The forum is owned and operated by a dude named Phillip.
3. Phillip has tasked certain folks to make the site run smoothly and with a profit.
4. If one of the folks who's job is to assure such profitability, deems something wrong/uncalled for, it WILL go away.

Now, extrapolate that to your own experience. What would YOU do to assure that the car/house/water bills get sent off once a month. Let all hell break loose, or try and reign in the madness? The folks that are havin a litter of kittens over this snafu are in most part senior members, that really outta know better than to stink up the Gen Forum with such drivel.

AV's need to be at least viewable by ANYONE that is capable of point and click manuvers. Otherwise if WE don't take action to censor(OMG...the 'C" word!!!) ourselves, the mods will have to take action. In a time/money aspect, turning off the AV's would be the sound choice. Mods et al are not paid to micromanage us, they are here to make sure BIG turds don't fly into the fan, and they don't get paid for that either, its a donation of thier time, so treat it as a gift huh?

I for one would lose a large aspect of my online "personna" if the wigglin butt were to go by the wayside. I sure don't like that idea, but please step outta yourself for a moment and have a look at it from the mods/admins aspect.

...hey, whats this brown stuff on my nose? :D

Thanks for reading that thread with an open mind. :)

I don't use the net at work But I do at home. What's the diff if my boss or my wife (she thinks she's the boss and I don't argue.) is looking over my shoulder. Besides.....does it lend crediblity to new commers that this is a serious tech site?

What's wrong with respecting others?

beleive me, i read it open minded. its just that if they were not allowed then why were they let in? They were fine until someone thought they shouldnt be here, other than phillip.

I respect what you guys are saying but just wanted to let ya know my feelings on this, was the same thing with my first name here at sg. it was fine until someone thought i was a hitler guru then it had to change. and when you look at my avatar most of the time its a pot leaf or something to do with marijuana, hence the 420.

well sorry if i stepped on any toes here but i am officially through with this thread, cause its my choice. thanks. :)

It's not about someone bringing it up, rather about an increasingly sexually suggestive trend. One day there is an AV of an animated girl dancing in a G-string... A week later there are two girls in an AV, in another few days you get the dancing girl in the first AV modified (bannana included for a stronger statement)... And as of today we had probably 10 av's with kissing girls, 1 of kissing guys, one taking a crap and so on...

It simply got to a point where it is a big enough issue so we have to deal with it.

Geeez, guys, get over it....

Do you guys really need girls so much that you need to put them on avatars?? If so, click the little x on the corner of your browser and get out of the house, get a life....

Why not just respect everyone and put some simple and nice avatar? I know some of you might say that "it's only one of them that's got offended, why do we need to change cuz one person complained?". One person is still a person, and it's still a member of SG, we should respect him. This is a computers forum, not some free talk forums that you can talk whatever you want.

I understand that the general forum is the best part of it and i admit that since i enjoy hanging around there too, however the topics are not so open that it should involve prons or obscene content.

OxBlood I know you are a very talented gif creating person, so why not just make another which EVERYONE would say  it's a really nice one instead of someone disagree with it? :)

My name was once cy88, I think i was requested to change it cuz someone complained that 88 is offendsive. I've been using cy88 since i started to use internet and I did not have a clue why is it offendsive. However, no question asked, i changed to cy :)

Anyways, just my little comments on it, i think they are pretty fair. So....put out the flames and let's smile :D :D

I know Im late in posting but, I just had to post.

I fully agree with you philip in that there are some AVs that are just TOO sexually suggestive for the reader base that we get (probably 10-11 year olds just looking for stuff ont he computer) but I think in your correctiveness, people have gone TOO far.

at what point do you start taking down ALL the women because even an "eye" is sexually suggestive. I just dont think the word of one should ruin it for the many. as in, just because silver brought something up that HE finds offensive...that everyone with a woman should be taken down (Im overdramatizing for the effect I know not EVERY woman's face was taken down)

I just find it amazing that we as a group (or even one) here are becoming sooo close minded. I remember when you guys were the most open bunch in the world...and hell if splash's AV flew with you...you had to be.

a womans body shouldnt be sexual. I find nothing wrong with a woman in her thong or a swimsuit model. and the fact is these kids who we uphold the "PG13" rating for see much more in a PG movie, and elsewhere on the internet.

yes sexually suggestive AVs should go. but a swimsuit model or two people kissing (whether it be two guys or girls) should be allowed...I mean cmon...if thats offensive then I hope none of you ever goto the beach

and downhill, Im pretty sure your wife wouldnt think your surfing porn :D she probably sees you on here everynight well enough to know its speedguide.

anyway...Im sorry but I just cant believe some of the stuff people will actually complain about being offensive. I mean silver finds women sexually suggestive, yet he posts a picture of his friggin nipple.....yeah...thats ok though.

I find this place not only a place to get great computer tech support from people, but also a great place for people to express their beliefs....whether that be the multiple conversations we have had on doing drugs, or the women that we have as our AVs...and I will go as far as to say most of the women AVs were art rather that cheap "pron". Stu has always had artistic AVs whether it be a drawing or just photoshopped pics. and swimsuit model pictures are art too.

ok Im rambling now...but I think you all get the point

why not we all just use pics of freinds and families in out av? like mine, it's a pic of my Kristen and her son taken while on vacation earlyier this year...wast hinking of changing it to a halloween pic of her son standing in a giant Pumpkin....a cute pic it is...

I agree with Phillip here...after all, this place can be equated to being his bat and ball, if he so felt, he could just take them hom and send us all packing untill we learned better...I agree that several avs were getting too out of hand.
