New computer...

Post by christine186 »

...and now I want to take it back. The sound's not in and everything PCI has no drivers. The 20 inch screen is nice but now I have to put in all kinds of stuff. Wait till I try the burner, then I'll really have alot of questions. Oh yea. it's a HP Pavilion pent 3, 256 ram and a 60 Gig HD. I put Win 98 SE in instead of XP.... I might take it back and get something else..I don't know....

You have an internet connection correct? If so I'm sure there's a buttload off computer savy people here that would be more than happy to help you fix your problems..

id suggest doing XP ... if ur missing drivers, XP will have them (lol should). And depending on how much you paid, im sure you can get a better comp then a pent 3... were at 2GHZ+ now ? Heh ur comp will be outdated soon .. just a suggestion.

yep yep
if you have some spare cash, go for something better so it won't outdate so soon. The feel of owning an outdated rig is no good :(

This is gold to me. When I came to this site it was with an IBM Pent 1 3.2 Gigs and it had a bad Hard disk Controller. I can take this back and get a 40Gig with 2 Megs for the same price and I just may do that because I don't want something that I can't use properly because of some HP name that doesn't have any support or downloads. I think I hate it already.

It's usually a modem, if you can't see pci card maybe it's on board or in an amr slot.

If it's a modem, then I don't need it...right? Should I just remove it from device manager?

I think it's diabled now because I can't find the driver for it. Should I just leave it alone and forget about the yellow stuff in device manager?
