Anyone ever heard or work for World Financial Group(WFG)?
If hired, I work as an agent selling products to my clients. (eg. put $$ into mutual funds)
I'm a student on my summer holiday right now. I recently went to a WFG meeting/presentation. Since I don't have a summer job right now I filled out a survey and applied for an interview. My impression is that there is nothing to lose.
Today I went to their website http://www.worldfinancialgroup.com and did a search about the company on google. To my surprise, what I found were negative comments from articles to various message boards about this company. Most people think that WFG is a scam. They say that the clients that are buying the products are not getting what they're suppose to get. I'm confused right now. I'm not sure whether these negative comments are true or not. And I certainly don't want to work for a company that scams other people. I'm going to be interviewed in less than 9 hours. I need opinions about whether I should go or not.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read.
Help! confuse about whether to go to a JOB INTERVIEW or not

You can go and see what the place is like and maybe get a sense of what goes on. If by chance you do get the job, you can decide from there if you want to accept it or not.
Just because you have an interview with the company does not guarentee you will get the job.

Good experiance to interview from time to time.
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.
ya go to it.
remember, not only are they interviewing you, you are also interviewing them. ask questions. make them WANT to give you the job if you refuse it

Don't know about the rules in Canada, but in the US you would need a license as an insurance agent to sell the insurance products and as a security sales person to sell the securities. Requires schooling, exams, continuing education, and significant financial liability for the correctness of your representations, etc.
I've had two calls from a similar US operation in the last couple of months. They basically are trying to get to your circle of friends that have money.
